Do ever need to show broken out section and want the depth to the center of one of the component in assembly OR part center.
The usual method is to either select some edge (you may have to add one more view for this some times) OR define the depth in most cases. But it could be troublesome some times to get to exact center. And further if there is a size change then one need to make sure to update the depth or select the proper edge.
Here is simple technique that you can use to avoid any hassle and get the required depth automagically.
1. Place you view and start the Broken out section command.
2. The pointer changes to a pencil with spline icon.
3. Draw the desired sketch (I’ve drawn a rectangle. In case you do this then once you finish the sketch you’ll have to start the Broken-Out section view again. make sure the sketch is selected before you do that).
4. After finishing the sketch you would be prompted for section view scope. Set your options as desired and click OK.
5. Broken out section view property manager show up.
6. Set the temporary axis to show under View Menu.
7. Select the desired temporary axis.
8. Click OK and get your broken out view.
With this method there is no need to add any additional view or define depth. Also in case of size change, the view would update itself.
